File Manager for Polestar — Android Automotive

Polestar was among the first car brands to launch with Google-built Android Automotive OS — a full Android system embedded in the car, not phone mirroring. Every current Polestar includes a Play Store, Google Maps, and native Android apps. AnExplorer installs directly and gives you a proper file manager for dashcam footage, USB drives, and wireless file transfers.

Compatible Polestar Models

Install AnExplorer on Polestar

From Google Play Store (recommended):

1. On the Polestar centre screen, tap the App Store icon
2. Search for AnExplorer
3. Install and open — no developer settings required

Via USB (APK sideload):

1. Download the APK from anexplorer.io/download
2. Copy to a USB drive (exFAT format)
3. Plug into the Polestar's USB-A port in the centre console
4. Open AnExplorer and tap the APK to install

Manage Dashcam Footage

Polestar vehicles include a built-in dashcam that writes to a USB drive plugged into the centre console. AnExplorer reads this drive directly:

• Browse event folders organised by date and time
• Watch clips on the car's portrait centre screen
• Copy important events to Dropbox or OneDrive automatically
• Delete old footage without removing the drive

Transfer Files from Phone to Polestar

Send music, podcasts, or audiobooks wirelessly from your phone:

1. Open AnExplorer on your Android phone and tap WiFi Share
2. Select the files to transfer
3. On the Polestar, open AnExplorer → Network → WiFi Receive
4. Accept the transfer — completes in seconds over home WiFi
